Little Eagles begin another season

July 31, 2014

Dayton, TN — The Dayton Little Eagles held strength and conditioning drills this week as they prepare for the upcoming season.  Now that signups are out of the way, the Dayton Little Eagles are looking forward to beginning practice next week.  The Little Eagles registered approximately 110 football players and 40 cheerleaders for the upcoming season.

Little Eagle President Jeff Hill is excited about the upcoming season.  The age range for the teams is 5 years up to 12 years of age.  There are 6 teams with a 5/6,7,8,9,10 and 11/12 year old team.  40 cheerleaders are also signed up with 5/6, 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 year old teams formed at this time.

First practice will be on Monday, August 4th, from 6 to 8 pm.   Practice will be at the Delaware Avenue complex on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week.  The first action will be in the August 30th Jamboree that will be here at the Rhea Central Elementary Football Field.  The Little Eagles will again be playing in the Scenic City Youth Football League.

The Little Eagles kept the registration cost low ($80) by conducting fundraisers and sponsorships.

“The local business people in Dayton have been so helpful with sponsorships.  Some individuals and businesses  have stepped forward and paid for registrations for young kids who would not have been able to play.  We will not turn a kid away because of money,” said Jeff Hill.

On August 18th, the Little Eagles have a fundraiser scheduled at Pizza Hut in Dayton.  On that day, Pizza Hut will donate a portion of the sales to the Little Eagles organization for those who bring a fundraiser ticket.

“We have done well with registrations.  We still have some openings for cheerleaders.  Amanda Levi is our Cheerleader Director this year.   Holly Crump will be leading tumbling on Mondays.  Lacy Langston from Lacey J’s Dance Studio will be working with the girls on Tuesdays and on Thursdays we will be doing Cheer practice.  All three days will be from 6 to 8 pm,” said Jeff Hill.
