Rhea County Animal Shelter brings kittens and dog to Clyde W. Roddy for Animal Shelter Day

June 15, 2017

Dayton, TN —  The Dayton Library hosted the Animal Shelter kittens and dog on Wednesday and it was big hit with nice crowd visiting Clyde W. Roddy as part of the month long summer reading program.  Officers Katie Stout and Shelter Director Cheyenne Swafford brought 9 kittens and one dog to the show and tell and the children reluctantly gave up the kittens when it was time to go make dog toys and cat toys.

The officers took time to explain about the Rhea County Animal Shelter, which is located just above the Rhea County High School.  To date the shelter has adopted out over 500 animals so far this year.  Children had great time making the toys and either took them home or left in box for the dogs and cats.  Animal Shelter will be back on Friday at 1:30 just before the movie at 2:00 pm.
