Dayton City hosts Oakdale

Lady Bees still rolling

Both the Dayton City School teams continued to roll as they hosted Oakdale on Thursday night. The Girls team began the night with a 50-11 win over the visiting Oakdale team. The Lady Bees as usual jumped out to an early lead and never looked back on their way to a 21-2 first quarter lead. The press was particularly effective against the Oakdale team. The Lady Bees continued to increase their lead with leads of 33-5, 43-11 and 50-11 at the last three quarter breaks. After an extensive homestand the Lady Bees will now take to the road to play Sunbright on next Tuesday.

Micah Black and Sarah Edwards were the leading scorers with 14 and 13 points. They were supported by Madison martin (10 pts), Caitlyn Blevins (7 pts), Emily Smith (4 pts) and Kaitlyn Ostenburg (2 pts).

Killer Bees

In the second game of the night the Sweatbees took on the Oakdale boys team and again Dayton City School was victorious. Oakdale did not go quietly in this one as the first quarter ended in a 6-6 ties. The Bees began to make a move in the second quarter with a 7-4 scoring advantage to move to a 17-10 halftime lead. In the third quarter they extended their lead to 27-12 and finished at the final horn with a 35-16 score.

Jordan Wilkerson led all scorers with 12 points. Also contributing to the cause were Reece Cooley (8 pts), Lucas Travis (7pts), Derick Bell (4 pts), Russell Green (2 pts) and Jaden Pankey (2 pts).

Dayton City School travels to Sunbright to play next Tuesday beginning at 6pm.
