Clyde R. Garrett, 62, died Monday, November 12, 2018 at Rhea Medical Center.

A lifetime resident of Rhea County, Clyde was the son of the late Gardner E. and Nora Agnes Henderson Garrett Sr.  He had worked in the construction industry as a carpenter.  Clyde loved motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons.  He also lovedmartial arts movies and collectibles and was of the Baptist faith.

Clyde was preceded in death by his sisters Janie Palmer and Linda Hayes and niece Amber Ivey.

Survivors include his son Dakota Garrett-Bassham of Decatur, Tennessee, brothers Gardner E. Garrett Jr. and Tommy Garrett both of Evensville and David Garrett of Georgiana, Alabama, sisters Faye Campbell of Spring City, Anna Jones of Norfolk, Virginia, Mary Monday of Talladega, Alabama and Kathy Ivey of Knoxville, several nieces and nephews and his dog Lenny.

Funeral services are Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in the Spring City Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Vaughn Funeral Home.
