BREAKING: Suspect ends chase by ramming police cruiser

The pursuit started on US 27 close to Tidwell’s Berry Farm when RCSD Sgt. Kenneth Stout tried to stop the vehicle for speeding maroon minivan and went South on US 27.

The chase eventually ended just off of Hwy 302 when the suspect vehicle rammed Deputy Zach Cochran’s patrol unit on the very narrow road after they had made a U turn at the dead end of Rains Road.

Deputy Cochran was not hurt as a result of the crash.

The suspects had minor injuries from the crash and were treated at Rhea Medical and released to be taken to jail.

During the pursuit the suspect threw several packages of drugs out of the vehicle but was able to be recovered by Deputies and Detectives on Hwy 302.

The suspect Garmany also had a container on his person that contained methamphetamine.

The duo is currently being held at the Rhea County Jail without bond, charged with the following offenses:

  • Felony Evading
  • Felony Reckless Driving
  • Felony Reckless Endangerment
  • Aggravated Assault
  • Felony Possession Sch II Meth
  • Felony Possession Sch VI Marijuana
  • Possession Sch II Hydrocodone
