Kids enjoy fishing, family time and prizes

June 2018

Spring City, TN — The annual Free Fishing Chuck Copeland Fishing Rodeo was another wonderful success on Saturday, June 9, 2018.  365 young anglers attended, fished, and brought in hundreds of fish on the day.  Lots of smiling faces out there on the banks of the lake at Veteran’s Park in Spring City.

Youngsters all the way up to twelve years old received free tackle, tackle boxes, bait and an opportunity to fish with day, mom, papaw or other family members or friends.  FLW Angler Michael Neal was at the event to sign autographs, give fishing advice and answer questions about fishing.  The Rhea County High School Anglers were at the event to provide fishing help and help with casting lessons.

It was a nice day, with no rain and not too hot.  There were over 2000 pounds of fish (compliments of TWRA) stocked before the tournament.  The Watts Bar Lake Association served plenty of free food that had been donated.  Mayfield Ice cream was distributed to happy fisherman, old and young alike.  The Gideons were there to give out new testaments and answer any questions youngsters had about bible.
