Kayak and canoe added to prizes: FLW Angler Neal to sign autographs

June 2018

Spring City, TN —  The TWRA, Town of Spring City, and the Watts Bar Lake Association would like to invite everyone to Veteran’s Park in Spring City, TN on June 9, 2018 to celebrate Free Fishing Day in Tennessee. Several hundred pounds of catfish, provided by the TWRA, will be stocked prior to the event hungry and ready to be caught!

Each participant 12 and under will receive a free T-shirt and a tackle box when they register, while supplies last. We will have food, snacks, drinks and ice cream to be given away as well. We also will have bait, tackle and a limited number of loaner rod and reels.

The Rhea County High School fishing team will be on hand throughout the morning holding various fishing related demonstrations such as lure selection, knot tying and casting tips.

FLW pro angler Michael Neal is scheduled to attend, pending tournament results at Kentucky Lake, to sign autographs, answer questions and give tips on fishing as well. We will have numerous prizes that will be given away by drawing at the end of the event like we have done in the past.

Theses prizes include Dollywood tickets, Tennessee Aquarium tickets, Chattanooga Lookouts tickets, numerous rods and reels, and several bicycles. We also have gift cards to local businesses as well as nationally known stores.

This year, thanks to our AMAZING sponsors, we will be giving away, via drawing, a 10′ Jackson Kayak, a 12′ Pelican canoe and TWO Tennessee Lifetime Hunting and Fishing Licenses. These last two prizes alone are valued at up to $1,200, depending on the age of the winners. This event is completely free to the public and we hope to see you there!
