A Quaint Christmas Parade and celebration is what the late Miss Kitty McDonald envisioned when she created Dayton’s Horse & Carriage Parade in 1997 for the Dayton Community. This event has blossomed into a festivity that showcases non-motorized carriages and wagons, beautiful horses, mules, caroling groups and costumed children in the annual Christmas Horse and Carriage Parade, and Main Street Dayton is proud to continue the tradition that Miss Kitty imagined 20 years ago.

MainStreet Dayton honors Dennis Tumlin as the 2017 Grand Marshall for Dayton’s Christmas Parade.   His wife, Angela and daughters Bailey Rae, Sadie Belle, and Chloe will accompany him as he leads the parade’s 21st anniversary celebration.

The Horse & Carriage Christmas Parade is scheduled at 3 pm, downtown Dayton, celebrating “Over the River and Through the Woods!” For more information, contact Mainstreet Dayton Director, Rachel Marshall at 423-775-9847 or mainstreet@volstate.net.
